The technology to design and mass produce living things on an industrial, rapidly grow them to adulthood, and program their minds to perform with desired predictability causes fundamental changes to every aspect of civilization.

Labor shortages disappear overnight as even the most menial and degrading of jobs are filled by people who are programmed to work dutifully and obediently at whatever task they are given with no thought to their own reward. A race of slaves proud of their bondage.

For human men, the saturation of the market with lovely ladies programmed to please leads to a rise in polygamy.

For women, the market demand for "organic" replicants made from the genetics of naturally conceived embryos alters their dating incentives such that promiscuity becomes a path to economic flourishing, transforming "professional slut" into a successful career path.

Yet, not every human sees this new technology as a blessing.
